Vegetables

Homegrown vegetables have a flavor rarely matched by those you buy. And even a small garden can produce enough to be well worthwhile.

Tomatoes

Starting: Start six to eight weeks before last frost. (In our area last frost is around the May long weekend). Repot when plants are 3-5 inches tall, thin and harden them off. Transplant into garden after last frost. Pinch bottom leaves off and plant in deep hole upto the part of the stem the leaves were leaves were pinched off. This part off the stem will grow root and help the growth.
